AbSeS is a unique sepsis trial with focus on sepsis from abdominal origin.

This large-scaled, multicenter, prospective, observational study aims to improve insights in the complex disease entity of abdominal sepsis. Special emphasis will be given to microbial etiology and multidrug resistance, and risk factors for mortality including aspects of antimicrobial therapy, organ failure, and source control.

Data collection is set to begin on January 1st, 2016.
